How this site remembers and measures visits

Cookies & tracking

A clear guide to the storage needed for your private vault and the optional analytics you can turn on or off.

Draft · legal review required

This is draft language based on the practices visible in the current app. A qualified lawyer should review and update it before publication. It is not legal advice and does not promise compliance with any law.

01

What Proofburrow stores

Cookies and local storage are different browser technologies. A cookie is sent with requests to its site. Local storage stays in your browser and is not automatically sent with each request. The current app uses both for different purposes:

Always active

Sign-in and security

When you sign in, the authentication service uses necessary session cookies and related security state to recognize your account, keep your session working, and protect sign-in requests. These are essential to account access and are not controlled by the optional analytics choice.

Browser cookies and session/security state

Optional · off until you accept

Page-load analytics

If analytics is configured and you accept it, the app stores a random visitor ID in local storage under polsia_vid and sends a page-load pixel to Polsia's analytics endpoint. The pixel includes the app's analytics identifier and that visitor ID. The current implementation does not use an analytics cookie for this beacon.

Choice memory

Your consent preference

We save your accept or reject choice in this browser's local storage so the site can remember it when you return. This preference is not a cookie and does not enable analytics by itself.

02

Your choice and what it changes

Accept optional analytics

Your choice is saved first. The page then reloads and the page-load beacon can run on that and later visits while your choice remains accepted.

Reject optional analytics

Proofburrow does not create or read the analytics visitor ID and does not send the beacon. If an ID was stored from an earlier accepted choice, the site removes it from this browser. Rejecting analytics does not disable sign-in or essential security storage. It cannot recall analytics data already sent before you changed your choice.

You can reopen privacy settings here or from the site footer to change or withdraw your choice. The control shows your current state.
